Custom designed and built for a young family, this small scale dwelling sits on a 15 acre sustainable agroforestry farm on the outskirts of Mocksville, North Carolina. Nestled on the edge of a ravine that funnels water into Hunting Creek and on the edge of the 100 year flood plane, the home sits atop concrete piers and glulam beams to eliminate moisture and water issues often associated with crawl space type foundations. Extra insulation keeps the home comfortable and energy efficient. The home is clad in Arbor Wood Co. chemical free, sustainable, heat and steam treated pine stained natural and black. Weather Shield VUE series all aluminum windows and doors and Cable Bullet railing on the front deck add to the modern aesthetic of the home.
“This is probably the best built house I have seen in the last five years.”
